Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT)

TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) is an internationally recognized teaching qualification. TKT tests your knowledge of English and your pedagogical skills related to language teaching.

You can take the TKT exam regardless of your field of study and pedagogical experience. This exam will help you evaluate your pedagogical knowledge and skills.

TKT exam:

It is accepted as an indicator of pedagogic knowledge in more than 60 countries of the world
TKT consists of 3 main and 2 additional modules; exams are conducted and evaluated separately for each module; a separate certificate is issued for each module.
Those who want to acquire this qualification can take the exams on the modules individually and as 2 or 3 modules. The order of the exam on the modules is arranged according to the candidate's wishes.
You can prepare for each module independently and at your own time.
TKT Modules

The main TKT modules are:

Module 1: Teacher's language skills related to language teaching
Module 2: Planning lessons and using resources for language teaching
Module 3: Managing the learning process, including classroom management

Additional TKT modules are:

TKT CLIL: Teaching various subjects in English

TKT YL: Teaching English to minors

Format of the exam

The TKT exam for any module consists of 80 questions. Candidates' results are evaluated on 4 Bands.

Band 1 – Limited knowledge of teaching English
Band 2 – Basic but systematic knowledge of teaching English
Band 3 – Comprehensive knowledge of English language teaching
Band 4 - Excellent knowledge of English language teaching

Exam duration for each module is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
